Strong Through Perimenopause Coaching Agreement
This agreement outlines the terms and expectations for participation in the Strong Through Perimenopause program.
By enrolling in the program, you agree to the following:
1. Program Description
Strong Through Perimenopause is a group coaching program designed to provide education, support, and community around the changes that occur in the body during perimenopause. The program emphasizes evidence-informed, non-diet nutrition support, body literacy, and compassionate nourishment.
This is not an intentional weight loss program. No aspect of the program is focused on changing body size, shape, or weight. Instead, the program supports sustainable habits, self-trust, and whole-person well-being.
Group coaching sessions are held on Thursdays at 6pm CT and Mondays at 1pm CT and last 90 minutes.
Sessions are recorded and accessible for six months after the start of the program.
This program also includes free access to the June Community Class on gut health, a community group chat and feed, and support from three registered and licensed dietitians: Maria Jose Palafox Romo, Sarah Skobeloff, and Maria Sylvester Terry.
2. Intended Audience
This program is intended for individuals seeking personal education and support during perimenopause. It is not intended for practitioners, nutrition professionals, coaches, or dietitians to learn how to facilitate group coaching or replicate this program.
Individuals in these professions are encouraged to pursue supervision or consultation services with our team if they wish to develop similar skills or programs.
3. Group Coaching Services
Group coaching is an ongoing relationship between Coaches and Clients. Group coaching combines nutrition education, supportive strategies, and peer connection to foster self-trust and sustainable care habits. Group coaching is not individualized nutrition counseling, medical nutrition therapy, psychotherapy, or medical advice.
Clients agree to participate in an 8-week virtual coaching program. Services include:
-
Eight (8) 90-minute live group sessions, held weekly on Zoom. Recordings of sessions will be available within 24 hours and accessible for six months.
-
Free access to the June Community Class on gut health.
-
Access to a private group chat and cohort feed for support and discussion.
-
Support from the coaching team via group chat, community posts, and during live sessions.
-
Educational resources such as handouts, guides, and tools to support learning.
Our team will be available to Clients during live group coaching sessions, in the group chat, and by email [Monday through Friday, 10am to 6pm CT]. Messages will be returned within one business day. Responses outside of these hours are not guaranteed.
4. Confidentiality
This program fosters a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment. Participants are expected to keep all group conversations confidential. Personal stories, discussions, and any information shared by fellow participants must not be shared outside the program. The coaching team will maintain confidentiality of participant information, content, and group discussions, except as required by law or with written consent from the participant.
5. Intellectual Property and Materials
All materials shared in the Strong Through Perimenopause program, including but not limited to handouts, recordings, slides, and coaching strategies, are the intellectual property of Maria Terry Nutrition and Wellness and the facilitation team. These materials are for personal use only. Participants may not replicate, share, sell, or use them in professional or educational settings. Unauthorized use of program content, including reproduction for professional purposes, is not permitted.
6. Session Attendance and Participation
We recommend Clients schedule sessions in advance to ensure regular participation. Clients who cannot attend a session live are encouraged to watch the recording prior to the next session. Sessions will not be rescheduled or refunded for missed time.
For the best experience, Clients are encouraged to attend from a private space with stable internet access. Participation while driving, multitasking, or exercising is discouraged. Clients are welcome to eat or stretch during sessions.
If a Client is unable to attend their usual session time (Monday or Thursday), they may attend the alternate weekly session. To do so, Clients must contact Maria Jose in advance to request access and receive the meeting link.
If a Coach needs to reschedule a session, at least one week’s notice will be provided when possible. In case of emergency, changes may be made with shorter notice.
7. Payment Terms
The program fee is due at the time of enrollment. No additional purchases are required. Optional services may be offered separately, such as Strong + Sturdy Membership or 1:1 nutrition counseling through our insurance-covered services.
8. Cancellation of this Agreement
Either party may cancel this agreement in writing. Full refunds are available until May 15, 2025. No refunds will be issued after this date due to the digital nature of the program and access to materials.
9. Research Participation
Participation in a research project connected to this program is optional. This project is conducted through MUNCH (Multi-cultural Understandings of Nutrition, Community, and Health) and includes:
-
One survey before the program begins
-
One survey mid-way through the program
-
One survey at the end of the program
-
Participation in an end-of-program focus group
Participants who complete all surveys and attend the focus group will receive compensation in the form of a Visa gift card provided by the research team at MUNCH. Additional information will be provided after enrollment. Choosing not to participate in the research project does not affect participation in the program.
10. Technology and Access Requirements
Clients are responsible for ensuring access to a device with a stable internet connection, a working camera and microphone, and the ability to join Zoom calls. The program cannot be held responsible for technical difficulties on the client’s side that affect participation or access to materials.
11. Communication and Chat Boundaries
The group chat is a space for sharing, connection, and support during the program. It is not a space for individualized nutrition advice, crisis support, or emergency care. Messages sent through chat will be reviewed and responded to during business hours. Clients are expected to maintain a respectful tone in all messages and posts.
12. Sensitive Topics and Voluntary Participation
This program offers a supportive space to explore physical, emotional, and psychological experiences during perimenopause. Topics may include hormone shifts, body image, mental health, and stress. Clients are never required to share personal information and are invited to engage at a level that feels safe for them. Support resources will be offered if needed. Participation in all discussions and exercises is always voluntary.
